Our Eye Doctors

Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision – many of which do not have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses including eyeglasses and contacts.

Our optometrist takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.

Meet our doctors:

Dr. Alina Gupta, O.D.

Dr. Alina Gupta, O.D.

Dr. Gupta graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2005. She has been providing quality eye care in the Calgary area for more than 10 years and now has her own community eye care practice, Woodbine Optometry, which has been open since April 2015. She also works part time at the Rockyview General Hospital's Eye Clinic where she provides low vision services. Before moving to Calgary in 2007, she practiced at the University of Waterloo as a clinical supervisor for students in their third and fourth years of optometry. She supervised students in the primary care, contact lens, external geriatrics and community clinics. Dr. Gupta enjoys practicing full scope, community based optometry. She believes in listening to patients in order to understand and solve their visual problems. She is able to easily relate with children and is also experienced in managing complex eye disease in the elderly. She also enjoys sharing information about how the visual system functions. (Go ahead and ask her a question!) Dr. Gupta is looking forward to being a part of the growth and development of families in her community. Dr. Gupta spends her spare time taking fine arts courses at the Alberta College of Art and Design where she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in fine arts. She and her husband enjoy spending time together hiking and snowshoeing in the Rocky Mountains.
